VetMedi is our sister company, owned by Charlotte and setup to cover prescription medication.
Charlotte first started The Horse Vet in 2015. The prime intention: to do right by horse owners, by a horse owner and vet. VetMedi is the same, except it covers a wider selection of animals and offers dispensing services.
After speaking with your vet, and receiving a prescription, you can upload it yourself on VetMedi, or you can have your vet send it to them directly.
On VetMedi, find the prescription medication you need, and select how you would like to upload your prescription.
Once the VetMedi team have received your order, they will review it along with your prescription, and if anything doesn't seem right the team will contact you.
After uploading your prescription, and ordering your medication, you can relax while the team gets your medication ready for dispatch.

When your prescription is received at VetMedi the vet team reviews the information, to ensure your horse gets the right medication and dosage.
Once everything has been verfied and checked over, your order gets dispatched by the VetMedi pharmacy team and you will be notified via email.

For temperature controlled medicine a signature will be required for a successful delivery.

Not necessarily. If your prescription allows for a larger quantity than you initially ordered, you can use it again until the full amount is dispensed as long as the expiry date has not been reached.

Most prescriptions are valid for a period of 6-months. Controlled drugs typically have a shorter lifespan of 28 days. Your vet will set the quantity and dosage of your medicine. VetMedi will not be able to dispense more than the allocated quantity, even if the prescription is still within the stated expiry date.
While we, or VetMedi can not give you a prescription, getting a prescription is simpler than you think. Ask your vet for a prescription for any medication they are going to prescribe your companion.
No, VetMedi only accept prescriptions from a veterinary surgeon registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons which is shown by the MRCVS.
No, VetMedi are unable to offer refunds on unused prescription medicines. RCVS and VMD rules exist to keep companions safe, once medication has been dispensed it cannot be returned.
